FLSP Hike - Long Creek Trail to White Hill Lake

 What: First Landing State Park Hike – Long Creek Trail to White Hill Lake 

When: Saturday, March 30, 2024 Where: First Landing State Park, Shore Drive Entrance, Picnic Area, turn right after entering the park. 

Meet: We will meet in the picnic area parking by 8:45 AM to sign in for the hike and start the hike at 9:00 AM. Restrooms are available at this location. For those without a park access pass the cost per car is $7.00 to enter and park in the state park. REI receipts may also be used to enter the park. You may also be able to walk into the park from the Shore Drive area. Ride sharing is encouraged – parking spaces can be hard to find at FLSP on the weekends. We will be hiking approximately 6+ miles mainly on the Long Creek Trail to the White Hill Lake area and, if time allows, to the beach area of the Osprey Trail before we return on the Long Creek Trail. At 9:00 AM we will proceed to the trailhead located down the park access road to start the hike. You can expect primarily flat trails except for some slightly rolling hills in the White Hill Lake Area. You will be walking along the shore and through coastal forests. We should have some great views of the bay and possibly some wildlife. We will probably hike rain or shine, cold or warm but we will notify everyone by 8 PM on March 29th if there is a cancellation for especially foul weather. 

Please bring/wear appropriate clothing for the weather, hiking boots, water, snacks and/or lunch. We may eat out afterwards, details at the hike. This hike is leashed dog (and poop scooped) friendly!
