Description:

Join us for a unique two-night camping experience at Merchants Millpond in Gatesville, NC! This event is open to up to 30 participants, offering a flexible adventure based on your skill level and preferred mode of travel.

Event Overview

• Friday Night: Camp at drive-up group camping sites 1 and 3.
• • Site 1: Close to main restroom facility
  • Site 3: Includes a pit toilet
  • Parking located 50-300 yards from sites
• Saturday: Explore the park during the day! Options include:
• • Hiking Trails (easy difficulty)
  • Water Trails (buoy-marked for easy navigation)
  • Bike Trails
• Saturday Night: Camp at the group canoe-in site.
• • Travel options:
  • • Hiking: ~4 miles from the nearest parking
    • Biking: ~2.5 miles
    • Paddling: ~1.5 miles by water
  • This is a primitive site with a pit toilet and no running water. Additional water for cooking and cleaning will be canoed in, but participants should carry their own drinking water.

Participation Details

• Cost: $10-20 per person (based on total participants, to reimburse campsite fees). Pay at event.
• Minors Allowed: Activity rated moderate difficulty.
• Transportation Options: Choose your route to the second campsite based on skill, gear, and preference.
